The Greek School of Plato is a 501(c) (3) organization that provides students from Pre-K to 9th grade an opportunity to explore the richness of the Greek language, history, and culture with second, third, and continuing generations of Greek Americans.

Plato edifies our students, growing their appreciation of Greek heritage. We engage in our work by leveraging a powerful support system comprised of trained teaching staff, volunteers, parents, and friends as well as the community’s youth. We currently have positions available for a Preschool Group Teacher in Brooklyn, NY.

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Preschool Group Teacher to join our team. The Group Teacher means a person who, under the supervision of an education director, is responsible for planning and supervising age and developmentally-appropriate activities for a given group of children NYCHC §47.01 (n).

Key Responsibilities

Will be responsible for planning and supervising age and developmentally-appropriate activities for a given group of children NYCHC §47.01 (n), under the supervision of an education director.

Qualifications

The Group Teacher shall have:

  • New York State Teacher Certification NYCHC §47.13 (d)(1)
    OR
  • Baccalaureate Degree in early childhood or related field and two years of supervised experience in a preschool program if currently employed in a permitted group child care service NYCHC §47.13 (d)(2)
    OR
  • Approved Study Plan for staff who meet minimum requirements NYCHC §47.13 (d)(3)
