The Greek School of Plato is a 501(c) (3) organization that provides students from Pre-K to 9th grade an opportunity to explore the richness of the Greek language, history, and culture with second, third, and continuing generations of Greek Americans.

Plato edifies our students, growing their appreciation of Greek heritage. We engage in our work by leveraging a powerful support system comprised of trained teaching staff, volunteers, parents, and friends as well as the community’s youth. We currently have a position available for a Preschool Educational Director (ages 2 to 6) in Brooklyn, NY.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Preschool Educational Director (ages 2 to 6) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in early childhood education and a passion for helping children reach their fullest potential. The Preschool Educational Director (ages 2 to 6) will be responsible for providing educational consulting services to pre-K teachers and parents, designing and delivering professional development workshops, and providing guidance on best practices in early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervises staff and oversees training
  • Develops and implements education curriculum
  • Conducts daily health inspections
  • Outlines duties for staff not specified in Article 47
  • Participates in hiring
  • Cannot have teaching duties if >40 children in care

Qualifications

  • New York State Teacher Certification
      • Nursery – 6th Grade
      • Early Childhood (Birth – 2nd Grade)
      • Childhood Education (Grades 1-6)
      • Special Education-N-12th Grade
      • Students with Disabilities Birth – 2nd Grade
      • Students with Disabilities 1st – 6th Grade
      • Pre-K – 2nd Grade
    • At least two years of experience as a group teacher in a program for children under six years of age

* Pending Certifications and/ or Approvals from the State Education Department or other accreditation organization will be accepted only if awaiting certificate.
