Celebrating the sweet tradition of Vasilopita (Κοπή της πίτας) at The Greek School of Plato!
This week, our weekday students came together to honor the spirit of Saint Basil the Great and share in the joy of the New Year. The Vasilopita, a special New Year’s cake, held a hidden coin, flourí in Greek for one lucky student who discovered the hidden coin, symbolizing good luck and blessings for the year ahead. Beyond language and culture, these moments create bonds that last a lifetime. Our vibrant community at The Greek School of Plato continues to thrive, fostering a love for learning and tradition.
Here’s to a year filled with growth, friendship, and the beauty of Greek traditions.
